The Wo man s club literature department met yesterday afternoon with host Mrs H A White. The program centered on Americanization responsibilities for immigrants, using autobiographies to illustrate the theme. Reviews included Jacob Riis Making of an American and Speiner works, plus Mary Antin The Promised Land.
A calm, intimate ceremony united Miss Etta Lee Sullivan and Horrell Macy Borum at John R. Sullivan’s residence with Rev. J. M. Hilliard officiating. The couple, from Deep River church area, left for their Deep River home after a dinner with the bride’s mother’s family.
