Rains Slow Katanga Fighting Around Elisabethville

The Congo fighting area near Elisabethville quieted as heavy rains limited U N and Katanga clashes. U N said Swedish jets knocked out the Katanga radio and Indian troops, aided by Canberra aircraft, fought off attacks near the Elisabethville airport. Katanga claims only a power line was cut.

Khrushchev Warns of 50 and 100 Megaton Bomb Threat

Premier Khrushchev told World Federation of Trade Unions delegates in Moscow that the Soviet Union had built 50 and 100 megaton bombs to hang over Western powers like the sword of Damocles. Denver AP reports Martin Co rocket plant scientist Dr. Carl L. Kober says a space death ray is nearing test readiness for 1963.
