Two Airmen Die In Endurance Attempt
In Tampa Florida two aviators died during an endurance flight attempt of the monoplane Sealdsweet to set a new record. E A Dempsey and Stanley Smith both of St Louis were killed when their refueling aircraft crashed at the municipal airport. The Sealdsweet, groping in fog with fuel low, struck a pine near Kissimmee Florida. Its pilots R W Schrock and Leonard Carothers were injured slightly. Both planes caught fire after the crashes.
