McDowell Re-Elected As Randolph County Chairman
Ira L. McDowell Republican was re elected chairman of the Randolph County Board of Commissioners for a third term. J W Plummer was re elected vice chairman as a new oath ceremony followed last month elections. The all Republican board swore in McDowell Plummer Byrd along with officials including Annie Shaw Somers and others. The board re appointed L P Hammond Jr solicitor and others to key posts. Cagle Jr resigned as chairman of the County Tax Commission.

Ken Williard, UNC standout and noted All American candidate, will address High Point Junior Chamber of Commerce at a 7 p.m. Thursday meeting at the Sheraton Hotel. He will discuss football experiences, answer questions, and show films of UNC’s Gator Bowl win over the Air Force Academy.
