Baptists Invasion to Southern Kyushu Details

The cost of the Baptist mission to southern Kyushu is set at 200000 dollars. Coleman D Clark, secretary of evangelism for the Japan Baptist Convention, notes nine Japanese churches will contribute about ten percent and the Texas Baptist Convention will cover the rest. Japan's Christian population totals 700000, with Catholics forming roughly half and 250000 affiliated with the United Church of Christ. Matsumura describes the crusade as necessary due to formalistic religions and lingering superstition, which fail to meet spiritual needs.
