UPS Contract Details Could End 11-Week Strike
Washington AP reports Teamsters officials from 15 eastern states review a tentative UPS contract with 74 locals. Frank E. Fitzsimmons presented the pact to the bargaining committee, whose approval was unclear, as 17 000 strikers vote on ratification. If approved by members the walkout could end, with a mail referendum possible delaying final settlement. The 11 week strike disrupted UPS operations from Maine to South Carolina except New York City.
