Texas Attorney General rules on impeachment session funding
The Texas Attorney General ruled that financing a special impeachment session from private sources is unauthorized. The opinion, requested by Speaker Lee Satterwhite, foresees no authority to issue warrants against exhausted appropriations for the 39th legislature’s contingent expenses. This effectively ends the proposed special session debate.

In Virginia, Virginia Military Institute announces a ten game 1926 football schedule with two new opponents Davidson and Richmond replacing Emory and Henry and Lynchburg. News from Spain mentions sardine tonnage miscounts. In Alaska three fishermen survive after being carried to sea on a cake of ice. A Louisville, Kentucky theft reports two barrels of mustard sufficient to make a million hot dogs bark.
