Railroad Thieves Nabbed After Stealing Toy Trains

Four youths including a 15 year old were jailed in Fort Worth after stealing a toy railroad set over three weeks. Detectives Roy Hills and L E Wood said the gang took track signals freight cars and three locomotives. The ringleader lured clerks in downtown stores while accomplices hid pieces under their jackets. The stolen railroad equipment was recovered and to be returned to its owners.

Gasoline Tanks Go Up In Costly Explosions

Eleven large gasoline and oil tanks at the Socony Vacuum refinery near Detroit blew up or burned early Wednesday, sending sheets of fire hundreds of feet high and black smoke over a 10 mile area. No injuries were reported. foamite was used to smother the fires and about 350 workers were at the plant. An automatic pump house was destroyed while flames were contained by dikes separating the tanks from refinery buildings.
