Plane Crash Kills Five Near Shelby North Carolina

A private plane wreck near Shelby killed pilot Carl Wood Wilson and four others including an 18 year old woman and three children. The Cessna 172 crashed into a knoll in a farm field around 10 20 p m as rain began. Debris scattered and no fire occurred. Wilson had a student pilot license.

FBI arrests 20 in Mississippi civil rights slayings case
