Armenian Refugees and Smyrna Tragedy Highlight Sermon
The sermon condemned the United States for not joining the League of Nations and taking Armenia under a mandate. Bishop Cannon urged aid for destitute Armenians and a $5 monthly pledge to feed and clothe orphans, yielding $1,608 in cash and pledges. The tale included Boyajian’s memory of Armenian exodus and Turkish persecution.
