Rotary Auction Is Set At High Point YMCA Event
The High Point Rotary Club will host its sixth annual barbec ue and auction at the High Point YMCA on Saturday to raise funds for the House of Prayer, a licensed alcoholic rehabilitation center. The project began with limited capacity and expanded to serve 17 men, with plans for a 30‑bed masonry building approved after welfare department pressure. Proceeds support the center’s building fund as it continues to aid hundreds of men since its 1958 opening. The supper runs 5:30 to 7 p.m. and the auction 7 to 10 p.m.
