No Such Law On Public Hearings For Housing
Federal Housing plans a low rent project in the area. Housing Authority Director Don Hubbard says no local law requires hearings for site selection beyond zoning or street-improvement waivers. Juanita Hills hearings occurred in 1968 and 1969 with broad publicity. area residents showed little objection beyond aesthetics. A current petition against the project would be futile given prior steps and existing zoning.
