A busy schedule of upcoming weddings and related events unfolds in Jamestown. Miss Tommie Lou Soune hosts a dinner at the Woman's Club while Miss Lois Wood entertains attendants at her home. Faye Arnedge, October bride elect, is honored at Highland Methodist Church as plans firm for Forestdale Garden Club, Payne-Long, Young-Herndon, and Smith weddings with cake cuttings and church ceremonies at Jamestown Methodist and Oakdale Methodist.
Worth D. Wicke of Centennial Avenue has about 400 African violets as a serious hobby. He built a large greenhouse to house the plants with two long shelves of blooms and a shielded roof to soften sun. Wicke waters from the top and feeds regularly, sharing plants with visitors who come by.
The Highland Village Prayer Band will gather Thursday at 2 PM at 121 Highland Ave home of Mrs. Nan DeMarvo. The Wesleyan Service Guild of Ward Street Methodist Church plans a Thursday meeting at 7:30 PM at Mrs. B. H. Groce's home 519 Gatewood Ave.
The schedule lists a 9 30 morning bridge session and a 6 15 dinner by the Food Service Committee. Robins Club holds a 7 30 dinner, and Crews Club hosts a party at 1222 North Main Street via the side entrance.
