General Agreement on Security Organization at Dumbarton Oaks
Washington August 29 The Dumbarton Oaks conferees announced a general agreement on the form of an international security organization. A council of big powers plus smaller nations would be established with periodic elections and an international court of justice for dispute adjudication. The delegates will continue to refine structure and jurisdiction before presenting final recommendations. Undersecretary Edward Stettinius, delegation chief, commented during the discussions.
