Flor ida electronics technician Walter Shaw testified before a Senate subcommittee that he invented a device used to baffle police wiretaps and cheat long distance tolls. He denied intent to aid crime and said the device could be modified by others. Young Man With Gun Taken From Airplane

A Piedmont Airlines propjet flight from Knoxville to Norfolk returned to Raleigh Durham after a young passenger with a gun on board was disembarked. The youth, identified as J B Craver and aged about 21 or 22, was taken into custody. authorities said there was no violence aboard.
