George Washington Bridge To Get Lower Roadway
The George Washington Memorial Bridge will add a six lane lower deck to increase capacity by 75 percent. Lower level costs are 183 million dollars with 25 million for construction and the rest for roads, a new bus terminal, and admin buildings. Completion is expected in 1962 and annual traffic may rise to over 60 million.
