Mollison to Fly Return Trip Across Atlantic to London

Captain J A Mollison plans the return leg of a round trip solo flight from Roosevelt Field to London via St John’s and Harbor Grace, eight days after landing in North America. He expects 11 a.m. departure, possible delay 24 hours, and notes eastward leg should be easier with favorable winds. He has flown 24 000 miles over 13 months and will retire from long distance flights but may settle in London with wife Amy Johnson while remaining mobile.

Plans Return Hop Tomorrow From Atlantic Flight

Mollison expects to return to the United States soon and says he will travel by steamer next time with a deck chalk and a steward. He rejects acting roles, wants to stay British and serve as a technical aviation advisor rather than an actor. He argues the westward Atlantic flight is practical and that commercial service could be viable with larger passenger planes.
