Four Die As Truck Hits Ditch In Tragic Crash
Four seriously hurt and three men burned to death when a pickup veered to avoid a second truck on U S 41 near Trenton North Carolina. Victims were George Lee 47 Atkinson J D Clark 44 and Sullivan Foy Lloyd 19 Currie Negroes. Driver Wilbur C Woodcock Atkinson said he swerved to miss the other vehicle. Second truck driver was Thomas Turner Jr. The logging crew members were returning from Pamlico County in rainy weather. The crash occurred about 9 45 a m between Comfort village and U S 258.
