Davis Contest Over Voter Alive Claim In Ouster Suit
In an amended answer, Davis and his attorneys deny that Mrs. A J Wilson is dead and assert she is a living qualified voter in the second ward. They challenge alleged illegal ballots for both sides, note discrepancies about G P Pitts and others, and say 34 ballots for Johnson were illegal or improperly marked. The ouster case, tied to May 7 votes, is set for next Tuesday with many High Point residents summoned as witnesses in Greensboro.
