Victims Of Violent Crimes Compensation In California

In California the first four years of the victims of violent crimes program awarded 406 claimants $677 282 and 27 Good Samaritan claims totaling $19 261. A 56 year old Oxnard man received a bereavement payment after a fatal assault. a Berkeley man got $5 500 for medical bills and lost wages from an unprovoked attack. Police are said to issue claim forms, with about 5 000 violent crimes monthly reported.

Secret 1969 Report Urges SST Cancellation

A previously secret presidential panel report from March 1969 urged cancelling SST contracts and ending government backing.
