Hollywood Romance to Laugh Line Up for Comedy
Hollywood notes trace romances and casting twists from real life. William Engelbert Jr marries Lynne Roberts after stalking her home, inspiring a writers’ comedy treatment that passes to Janis Carter. Rasumny shifts from comedy mechanic to gypsy in For Whom the Bell Tolls. Harold Huber fails to land a Japan spy role. Lucille LeSueur becomes Joan Crawford, and Sylvia LaMarr, Crawford’s stand-in, is eyed for romance. Tom Brown ages into a college senior in Chatterbox.
