Races Run Deep in Sonny Honeycutt’s Life at Bowman Gray
High Point native Sonny Honeycutt balances business at A to Z Rental Service with hobby racing at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem. He ranks fifth in most popular drivers and 13th in season points among 60 racers, eyeing the pro circuit's big tracks while continuing to race at Bowman Gray and in Madison. He credits experience, backing, and money as keys to reaching Darlington, Charlotte, Atlanta, and Daytona, aided by his uncle Tom Williams who builds their two cars, a 1953 and a 1957 Ford.
