Arthur DeBerry a drayman was arraigned on a perjury charge in municipal court after testifying in the Will Thompson larceny case. New Device Cuts Anchor Chains of All Floating Mines
Rotterdam August 20 a newly invented device claimed to cut anchor chains of floating mines to keep them from striking ships. Rear Admiral Boedhart of the Dutch navy oversaw tests aboard a Batavier line steamer. The 18 foot undersea prow pushes aside cables then clips them, freeing the mine to surface where it may be exploded.
