The Order of the Rainbow for Girls will conduct a bazaar in the basement of St. Marys Episcopal Church on August 22 starting at 11 a.m. Items for sale include handmade articles and baked goods. A white elephant sale will be held with valuable door prizes. Luncheon will be served.
Miss Mary Jean Newell was honored Saturday afternoon with a tea hosted by Miss Shirley Boyles at 18 Woodrow Ave. Guests between 3 and 4 30 called, and Miss Newell received a pink asters corsage and a silver bonbon dish. Hostess Shirely Boyles and Mrs S M Newell greeted guests. Miss Calista Taylor supervised the punch and Miss Brenda Rich assisted. Pink asters brightened the serving rooms.
Miss Margaret Ann Wagner and her fiancé Johnny Teague were guests at a Friday cookout hosted by Harold and (Dr) Zimmerman couples at the Zimmerman home. The couple received two silver trays and a carving set as gifts. the wedding is planned for August 29.
