About 20 Workers Cut From Government Office
Approximately twenty employees have been released from duty with the Demobilized Records Branch and the World War Two Records Branch. Miss Marjorie O'Brien said the cuts are not due to inefficiency but to a government order to reduce staff after a department-wide survey. Some may join other federal agencies or local offices as names are sent to Winston-Salem for civil service placement. Potential addition of Women Army Corps records would not raise staff beyond current levels. Official word from Washington is pending, expected early next month.
