Time New York reports that at 10 30 this morning railway executives and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers leaders met to end the nationwide shop men’s strike. Harvey E. Cline proprietor of Cline's drug stores in this city and Greensboro barely escaped serious injury when his car failed a curve on the High Point Greensboro road ten miles from town. The vehicle ran off the road into dirt, then back to asphalt, struck a fence owned by J. C. Watkins and overturned damaging the car and fence. Cline suffered only minor bruises.

Royal Oakes, a High Point black man, was found guilty of murder in Guilford Superior Court and sentenced by Judge Harding to two years on the county roads. The trial followed a July 15 shooting after a dispute between his wife and Henry Johnson, with defense claiming defense of wife and hiding in the loft to observe Johnson.
Robert T. Harris Jr., four and a half, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Harris of 119 Chestnut Street, died at his home this morning of membranous croup after choking on a biscuit. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Harris residence with Rev. W. A. Lambeth and Rev. J. A. Clark. interment in Oakwood Cemetery. He belonged to Mrs C. B. Mattocks Sunday school class at Wesley Memorial Church.
