Katherine Scott Garrett married Steven Wayne DuBois on August 9 at First Presbyterian Church in Greenville. Rev. Joseph Greer officiated. Miss Catherine Porterfield was matron of honor. the couple, both SC graduates, plan to live in Greenville.
Miss Margot Ingram bride elect of Lawrence Pritchett was honored at a Willow Creek home yesterday. Guests were greeted with punch and corsages, and a luncheon featured an imported linen tablecloth, pink bouquet centerpieces, and mementos for bridesmaids. Parents and relatives attended, with the couple set to wed August 16 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
Miss Meg Randle, debutante of June at the High Point Debutante Ball, was honored at a pool picnic attended by her grandmother Mrs. Jesse Washburn and aunt Mrs. Jordan Washburn. Local debutantes and Mrs. Jack Campbell and Mrs. James Randle joined the celebration with yellow and white decor and gingham themes.
A morning gathering welcomed Linda Gooding with guests arriving at 10 30 a m. for a patio reception featuring Cokes and refreshments as the honoree was presented to attendees.
A Vimy gathering featured a Corsage corsage white daisies with red gingham ribbon. Guests wore belts and guests included Mrs. James T. Gooding and Mrs. Jack Debutante Club. Activities ranged from swims and tennis to plunges and dances with evening square dance and duplicate bridge events.
Miss Annette Mullis and Henry Mosley united in marriage at 7 p.m. Thursday in a Church of Jesus ceremony. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Mullis, wore a lace appliqué gown with illusion veil, bouquet of white carnations and pink roses. Rev. Roy Scarboro officiated. Francis Scarboro played organ. Attendants included maid of honor Debbie Taylor and bridesmaids Marsha and Pat Mullis. Best man was Perry Mosley. ushers were Harold Mullis and Ernie Aikens. The couple will reside at 309 Kersey Drive.
Charlene Parris bride elect of Dennis Champion was honored at a Monday bridal shower hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Larry Cook. Hostesses Mrs. Clyde Carr and Mrs. Cook presented a bouquet, gifts included dishes and an afghan, with white flowers, pink dahlias, and summer arrangements enhancing the tables. Special guest was Eleanor Champion, mother of the groom. The couple plans to wed August 29 at Crestwood Presbyterian Church.
