Seventeen residents testified to abuses as officers denied wrongdoing and the Civil Service Commission adjourned without action.

Three Teams Compete For National Title
Cumberland Maryland Plains Pennsylvania and Newark Delaware baseball teams opened a regional junior American Legion playoff in Bethlehem Pennsylvania with Cumberland as the defending national champion. The three day event decides the eastern sectional winner to advance to Charlotte North Carolina.
