Washington AP William Pollock president of the Textile Workers Union of America accused large Southeast textile firms of using their anti union tactics as a nationwide blueprint He argued the NLRB has abandoned Southern workers seeking to organize and urged stronger federal enforcement and faster NLRB procedures to curb fear of discharge intimidation and coercion He noted some firms recognize and deal with unions in some cases.
U S Navy F4C Phantom crews from the carrier Constellation shot down two MIG21 jets over North Vietnam in the first dogfight in two weeks. The U S Command also reported 40 civilians killed and 36 wounded when helicopters faced enemy fire in the Mekong delta nine days earlier.
