A 26 year old man Richard Readdy and his 20 year old wife Helene Margaret Readdy of Shamokin Pa admitted swapping their 20 week old son for a 1957 pickup truck in Tulsa Oklahoma. Jesse Lester Burger 42 of El Dorado Springs Mo owner of the truck also admitted the swap and a bill of sale was produced though no money changed hands. The infant was placed in the Tulsa juvenile shelter.

Guard Jet Crashes Near Concord In Air National Guard Training
An Air National Guard F86 Sabre jet crashed and burned 100 yards from a rural Concord dwelling after Capt. George Keller bailed out safely from 3,000 feet. Keller landed in a tree and was uninjured. the jet from Charlotte's 156th Fighter Interceptor Squadron severed a main AP wire line, halting service to newspapers and radio, while bystanders aided fire crews.
