Melrose Trips Triangle To Tie Up First Place
In a tight Industrial league baseball game at Melrose high school field Melrose edged Triangle 5 to 4 to pull even atop the standings. Triangle led early scoring two in the second on a Brently Hucks homer but Melrose answered with doubles by Brown and Dean and a fourth inning run sequence to take a 4 2 deficit. Greeson walked and Ted Martin doubled driving in a run, Grubbs followed with a single scoring another, and an error allowed a fourth Melrose run. Triangle managed two more tallies in the sixth and ninth but could not overtake Melrose. Crowson pitched the win with four walks and the losing Parrish allowed all five Melrose runs.
