Christian Jailed When His Bondsman Goes Off His Bond
Clarence Christian, charged with manslaughter in the Vivian Burton death, was confined in the city jail last night as his case neared municipal court. His bondsman surrendered him and absconded with the $1,000 bond after the accident near Five Points left Burton dead and several others injured. The case was set for trial with jury demand, and Judge Lewis B Teague was expected to rule manslaughter a misdemeanor.
