Nixon Golf Stop Draws Crowd In Western North Carolina
In Waynesville North Carolina President Nixon finished a speaking tour with a golf match. Playing with Nixon were evangelist Billy Graham Senator George Smathers and Waynesville industrialist Aaron Prevost. Prevost posted the low score while Nixon led with 9 holes. Smathers shot 77 and Graham 83 as Secret Service kept followers at a distance. Nixon planned to travel to Washington after the game.
