The Soil Conservation Service in High Point completes plans for 60 timber plots of three to seven acres to demonstrate proper woodlot improvement to Deep River erosion control area farmers. Crews train in forestry. fuelwood, posts, stakes, and spreader logs support the project. 523 acres have received stand improvement with 9000 man-days used.
