Paris July 10 Commander Raynal who held out at Fort Vaux for more than two months against German assaults at Verdun has been allowed to take his little dog into captivity with him. He also keeps an ordnance officer and a German captain as caretakers in Germany. Raynal has written two letters to his wife from Germany and Mayence describing his transfer and the sword presented by the crown prince after his surrender.
