Becoming An Actor By CAROL WILSON UTLEY
Christopher Metas, 22, rising actor at the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, speaks of acting as action not performance. Since July 15 he has played Montjoy in Henry VI and roles in Taming of the Shrew and The Miser, aiming to show audiences they can act in life as well as on stage. He traces acting from childhood in Minneapolis and Ann Arbor to study with mime masters in Europe, seeking honesty as the core of fine acting.

Boston writer links Homer work to 1853 children’s book
Advertising copywriter Eric Rudd of Boston says a wood engraving in The Children's Album may be Homer’s earliest known work. The image shows three girls picking flowers on a mountainside and could date to 1853 when Homer was a 17 year old apprentice in Boston.
