Veterans urge removal of Waynick as adjutant general
A Greensboro based group of Veterans of Foreign Wars urged Gov Luther Hodges to remove Capus Waynick from the post of adjutant general of North Carolina's National Guard. Twelve VFW posts in the 10th District passed a unanimous resolution calling Waynick unqualified for the job noting his lack of military experience and absence from military affairs for over 25 years. Tom Turner of Greensboro told district posts the law requires five years active duty as a commissioned officer, arguing such a leader can command a division or a corps in war.
