Stymie and Cup Reform Debates in Golf
Inside Dope discusses expected reactions to proposed golf rule changes. The piece argues against eliminating the stymie and against enlarging the cup, noting the stymie rewards skill when navigated and a larger hole would aid poor putters while hurting the accurate player. It recalls Long Jim Barnes and British views, concluding changes likely won’t happen.
