Death of Jacob A Hedgecock in Thomasville
Jacob Alfred Hedgecock 69 of Rt. 4 Thomasville died at 6 p.m. Saturday in City Memorial Hospital after years of declining health. Born August 19, 1895 in Davidson County he was a farmer and Primitive Baptist. Surviving wife Minnie Moore, daughter Evelyn Baldwin of Wallburg, sons Donald and Floyd Hedgecock, step mother Mrs. James M. Hedgecock, three half sisters Auvilla Hedgecock Hubert Kennedy and Mrs. James Prevo, half brother Clyde Hedgecock and four grandchildren. Body remains at J. C. Green and Sons pending funeral arrangements.

A safe was stolen from the Guilford Dairy Bar on S Main Street in Lexington early Saturday. A second safe found in a High Rock Lake boathouse near Southmont was not the one taken from the dairy bar. Police say residents observed suspects moving a heavy safe on a handtruck and loading it into a car.
