Moscow girl judge says no regret over death sentences
Citizeness Anna Glusman, 25, presiding Moscow district court judge, says crimes against state safety justify death penalties. Since February she has sentenced about 25 people to death, rarely troubled by conscience, while aiming to temper decisions with mercy when possible. She, a Communist party member, lives alone, studied law after leaving school early, and has previously served as a judge in Kharkov. The Moscow district court death rulings can only be mitigated by Russia's supreme court or central executive committee.
