Farmers Must Be Guaranteed Minimum Food Prices
Washington reports Prof. F. A. Pearson of Iowa State Agricultural College urged Congress to enact minimum farm prices to shield farmers from losses during war time. He noted low planted acreage due to seed and labor costs and fear of falling prices, and warned against over production only after war. He cited a worldwide food shortage and Allies needing tens of millions of bushels, with limited help from Argentina.
