Scott Defends Meeting With Utilities Companies
Gov. Bob Scott says he did not advise the North Carolina Utilities Commission on utility finances and saw no impropriety in his April 15 meeting with commission members and Roy Sowers Jr. He noted about six financial houses had contact with him but found no evidence of concerted pressure. The meeting focused on natural gas shortages and potential outcomes from a May 11 public hearing, with Scott stating he merely highlighted concerns from financial institutions.
