Admiralty Reveals Hardy Dramatic Fight at Narvik
The British destroyer Hardy led a five destroyer assault on six German ships at Narvik on April 10. Despite the bridge crew being wiped out save one officer, Lieutenant Stanning, the Hardy pressed attacks, beached the ship, and was later aided by HMS Ivanhoe after a second volley by Warships. German losses included six supply ships and one destroyer torpedoed, with several others damaged.

Greenwood Predicts Wide Spread of War
London April 24 Deputy Labour leader Arthur Greenwood told the National Defense Public Interest Committee that even the United States is piling armament spending not from a direct threat but to gauge how far war may extend. He warned neutrals will join the fight, called Hitler's invasion foolish, and said the war will be long though the allied powers are sufficient.
