Women urged to push for equal rights to curb militancy
A Nixon task force warned the president that women face accelerating militancy if denied equal opportunity and protection. The 13 member group urged an office of women's rights, a White House conference, and new laws on education, social security, taxes, family aid and employment. It called for more women in top government roles and anti discrimination guidelines for contractors. The report cites barriers in education and marriage laws and notes harsher penalties for women in some states.
