High Point Native, Nurse Found Dead at Hospital
Dr. Paul Douglas Boyles 37 and nurse Betty Cheek Yarborough 39 were found dead at Broughton Hospital in Morganton after a locked office door was forced open by staff. Boyles died from a knife wound to the heart. Yarborough died later in surgery. Both had long service at the state mental institution and were last seen entering the office before 7:30 a.m. Authorities say no patients were involved and an investigation is underway.
