Two Tax Reviews Are Being Sought
In Washington on April 22 the Wright’s Automatic Tobacco Packing Machine Co of Durham NC asked the board of tax appeals to redetermine a 5385 tax deficiency for 1934 income and excess profits. The firm claims the IRS erred in disallowing 22500 salaries and in computing 9733 gain from securities. T H Burkhardt of Greensboro NC sought redetermination of 10069 tax deficiency for 1934 1935 and 1936 income, arguing the bureau wrongly included profit from the sale of caps assets in total selling price rather than gain realized.
