Baseball Attends Race Tracks In Rivalry With Kings Of Sport
The Red Cross Benefit ball crowds at Polo Grounds and Ebbetts Field lacked pari mutuel betting as Jamaica crowds boomed. The Verce and Elsie the Cow drew attention while a Jamaica race drew 20 000, overshadowing attendance at the ball parks. The Yankee Giants and Dodgers fielded nine sound players despite handicaps, with Johnny Lindell delivering standout plays.
