Eastman Urges Ban on Railroad Pool Consolidations
Joseph B. Eastman of the Interstate Commerce Commission tells the Senate Interstate Commerce Committee that a report favors legislation to prohibit pooling of stock by holding companies to consolidate railroads. He urges court injunctive relief and personal penalties for each unification. The report also notes support for the Couzens resolution to suspend consolidations while a House committee considers a similar measure.
