Twenty four divorces and one annulment were granted yesterday by Judge Byron Haworth as part of a municipal court term. All divorces were on two year separation grounds and involve multiple named couples with joint petitions. The sole annulment is in the case David P Carter versus Pearl T Carter.

Theft Cases Bound Over In Municipal Court
Gene Stewart 26 of Murray was bound over to Superior Court by Judge Byron Haworth after a preliminary hearing on four break ins. Stewart admitted three more break ins and cooperated with police. Bond set at 500 dollars. R D Greer 46 of E Washington Street was ordered to serve 60 days on the roads after being found guilty of cashing a check twice. James Stewart 34 of North Street Alley was found guilty of assault with a deadly weapon and ordered to pay court costs. Robert Dye Jr. 29 of Wendley Street received 3 months for violating the prohibition law, suspended for the violation and a 10 dollar fine plus costs.

A 16 year old Jamestown High School student, Norman Williams, was stabbed in the stomach by a 15 year old during an early morning woods scuffle near the school. Williams survived an abdominal wound described as minor and the case will be handled by the Domestic Relations Court in High Point.
