An explosion of fire damp at the Levant De Mons coal mine in Mons Belgium kills ten workers. Twelve miners are missing and thirteen injured. Two of the injured are not expected to survive.

Snyder's Killer Examined by Alienists Before Trial
In New York on April 16 AP reports Henry Judd Gray underwent prolonged sanity examinations by alienists as Easter nears. Ruth Brown Snyder, Gray's former mistress, received Easter flowers in her cell while Gray and Mrs. Snyder face joint murder charges of art editor husband. They prepare for a Long Island City trial starting Monday with reporters and 129 seats set for media and 110 for spectators.
